RECIPE – WILD TURKEY BONELESS WINGS

Who doesn’t like boneless wings? I don’t expect to see any hands waving in the air on this one (well, that is unless you don’t care–HA!, I digress). One of my favorite meals back in the city was boneless wings with a beer (I know you’re thinking it, the word is for this is…CLASS-Y). But hey – you do you, and I’ll do me! Obviously, you don’t have to live in a city to enjoy boneless wings. All you need is a fryer and some wild turkey. (Oh yea, and the beer!!) This, my friends, is the perfect way to enjoy boneless wings!!!

Cook Time: 3-4 Minutes
Serves: 2-3 Hungry Human Beings (24 Boneless Wings)
*Disclaimer: may serve less Hungry Human Beings, depending on how hungry you are!

Ingredients

There’s many different sauce options out there, but three of my favorite sauces for boneless wings are sriracha bbq, garlic parmesan, and of course, buffalo. Below are recipes for different sauces to toss 12 boneless wings. If you’re wanting all 24 wings in one sauce, just double one of the recipes!

Sriracha BBQ Sauce:

Garlic Parmesan (recipe from Jenna at All Recipes)

  • 1/2 Cup melted butter
  • 1/2 Cup grated Parmesan Cheese (use the real stuff)
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic (*note that this is an addition to the original sauce recipe)
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Buffalo Wing Sauce (again, keeping it simple)

Directions

  1. Turn on the fryer to 375 degrees. While the fryer is heating up, start preparing the wild turkey boneless wings.
  2. Add 2 cups of flour into the bottom of a Better Breader Bowl (these are awesome by the way). If you don’t have one, use a large bowl.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons of Lawry’s Seasoning salt to the flour and mix together. Set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat 2 eggs and set aside.
  5. Add 1.5 pounds of cubed wild turkey meat into the egg bowl first. Mix well so all the meat is coated in egg.

  6. Add egg coated meat into the top of the Better Breader Bowl, or the large flour bowl. Shake or mix evenly to where all meat is coated with flour.

  7. Transfer battered meat onto a large plate and add battered meat into the fryer. Cook for 3-4 minutes at 375 degrees, or until the boneless wings float in the oil.
  8. Drain, let cool, and toss in your favorite wing sauce!
Wings, crispy from the fryer!

Sauce Prep: (Remember, each sauce only makes enough for 12 boneless wings!)

  1. Set out separate bowls or containers for each sauce. (Make sure the bowls are big enough to toss your wings in!)
  2. For Sriracha BBQ sauce, mix 1/2 cup of Sweet Baby Ray’s Sweet n’ Spicy BBQ Sauce and 1/2 tablespoon of sriracha.
  3. For Garlic Parmesan sauce, mix 1/2 cup melted butter, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
  4. For Buffalo sauce, use 1/2 cup of Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce.

Even though wild turkey meat can be a lot tougher than chicken, these boneless wings don’t disappoint! This easy recipe is great for a group gathering, or even those random days when you’re craving your favorite wings. Have fun and enjoy!
